A CHALLENGE designed to test enterprise skills amongst Dales schools saw last year's winners retain the trophy.
Organised by the Wensleydale Rotary Club, several schools were each given a £40 cash start-up and encouraged to turn it into a profit for charity. Following the implementation of their respective ideas, representatives from each of the schools gathered at Spennithorne Primary School to impress the judges.
This year’s final was between Spennithorne, Middleham, and Reeth and Arkengarthdale, with the latter creating a healthy profit of £248, making them winners.
A combined total of £567 was handed over to Linda Stead of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
John Morton, president of the Wensleydale Rotary Club, said: "We were all impressed by the way the youngsters undertook the challenge, and are sure they learned a lot."
