DOG owners are being invited get their pets signed up for Bark in the Park.
The charity event is set to attract hundreds of canines and their well-behaved owners when it returns to Darlington’s South Park on Sunday, April 23.
The sponsored walk will raise funds for St Teresa’s Hospice and organisers are hoping for a repeat of last year’s inaugural event’s success – raising more than £10,000.
Event organiser Scott Marshall: “We had modest hopes for the first Bark in the Park and we were overwhelmed by the incredible response, showing that support for St Teresa’s Hospice extends to our four-legged friends too.”
All dogs that register by noon on Friday, April 21 will receive a rosette and a goody bag for taking part.
Hospice chief executive Jane Bradshaw said “We will raise thousands of pounds which will allow us to further the Hospice’s vital free services for local people. I’ll be there with Barney my Bedlington terrier – he can’t wait.”
