POLICE have recovered the body of a man following a search of Hartlepool marina.
A specialist police diving team was brought in to assist with the search for missing Andrew Roy.
The 51-year-old , from Cornwall, was last seen on CCTV at around 11.15pm on Thursday, February 9 near Portals Place on the marina.
Members of the RNLI, HM Coastguard and the fire service were also involved in the search over the weekend after the alert was raised when he failed to turn up at work on Friday morning as expected.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Officers who have been conducting searches in Hartlepool marina discovered a body at around 1pm on Monday.
"Whilst formal identification has not yet taken place, the family of Andrew Roy from Cornwall is aware and is being supported by officers.”
