FIRE investigators believe a bungalow blaze was most likely started by an electric blanket.
Two people were treated by paramedics after breathing in smoke at the scene of the fire in Hurdis Road, Bishopstone, near Seaford.
Crews from Newhaven, Brighton, Roedean, Seaford and Lewes were called to put out the fire just after 2pm on Monday, December 12, which devastated the house.
After using hoses to tackle the flames, they helped board up the property for the night.
The fire service has told people with electric blankets to watch out for danger signs including a burning smell, scorch marks or discolouration, wires visible or poking through the fabric and damage to the blanket or the power cable.
