A GROUP of snap happy photographers have been invited to take part in an exclusive exhibition showcasing talent from across the globe.

Works from staff and graduates from Cleveland College of Art and Design (CCAD) will be featured during the month-long festival which brings together awards-winning international photographers.

Jess Holloway, a 24-year-old photography graduate from Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees, has been selected chosen to take part in the exhibition for her project titled, Southbank.

Ms Holloway, who has previously had work featured in the North-East and London, said: “When I came across Southbank, I knew that it would make a strong yet gritty impression of Britain.

“It was different to other council estates, it had certain atmosphere which intrigued me, that’s when I began to approach and ask people if I could photograph them.”

During a CCAD campus visit, Hull International Photography Festival patron, Matt Finn, was impressed with the quality of collections created at the site in Hartlepool.

Mr Finn said: “It's great that we could highlight such strong local talent to a wider audience.

“As a young emerging artist trying to get exposure it is really difficult, so we saw this as a wonderful opportunity to get the work out there.”

Photographs taken by North-East students will be on display throughout October at the Hull International Photography Festival.
