FAMILIES provided a major boost for a local charity’s funds when they enjoyed a day of summer fun in Northallerton.
Local store Sam Turner and Sons held their second family fun day – and around 3,000 people poured through the gates.
One of the biggest draws of the day was the Meltdown inflatable - similar to the “Last One Standing” event on the TV show Wipeout, where contestants have to jump and duck to avoid the revolving arms.
There were also smaller inflatables for younger children, birds of prey, a vintage Ford Mustang, face painting and much more.
Director Charlie Turner said: “This was the second Sunday Fun-day we have organised and on the back of this success its looks like becoming an annual event.
“We really enjoy putting on the day and it is brilliant to see so many families visiting and clearly enjoying it.”
More than £1,090 was raised for Herriot Hospice Homecare.
