PLANS to transform a former pub into three new homes have been submitted to Durham County Council.
The Bridge Inn in Middleton-in-Teesdale was once a thriving business but, like many traditional pubs, it suffered a decline in recent years and closed down two years ago
New Era Regeneration bought the derelict building last June and hopes to convert it into three family homes. Each house would have three bedrooms, with the third created in the roof space.
The developer is also seeking permission to demolish a single storey extension and barn. It would then use the recycled stone to reconstruct the front of the 19th century building.
Comments on the application can be made on Durham County Council’s website, durham.gov.uk, until Tuesday, July 12.
