TEENAGERS in Darlington have joined forces with more than 4,700 youths from across the North-East to take part in a life-changing summer scheme.
Darlington College announced it had teamed up with the National Citizen Service (NCS) to offer its students an opportunity to spend a week living and learning at an outdoor adventure centre.
The Haughton Road-based College hopes youngsters aged 16 to 17 will take on the “rite-of-passage” challenge that will see them building skills for their future in the world of work.
Darlington College marketing manager, Claire Turner, said: “NCS offer an invaluable opportunity for students to gain real life and team working skills, enhancing their employability prospects and for many improving their confidence.”
NCS costs a maximum of £50 to cover accommodation, food, and transport costs.
