The North East Ambulance Service's hazard area response team is at the scene.
Great North Air Ambulance Service said they had transported a patient to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
A NEAS spokeswoman said: "We were called earlier this morning to the Margery Lane area to reports of a man with neck injuries. The patient has been flown by air ambulance to James Cook Hospital."
