POLICE are hunting a gang of thieves who stole alcohol worth £1,500 from two North Yorkshire supermarkets.
On Monday, May 23, shortly before 6pm, four men entered the Co-Op on Langbourne Road, Whitby, and loaded over £800 worth of alcohol into their trolley.
They hid the alcohol under groceries and left the store with the trolley without making any payment.
Between 6.30pm and 6.45pm on the same day three men entered Sainsbury’s in Stainsacre Lane, Whitby.
The men proceeded to do the same thing they had done earlier that evening and left the store with over £700 with of alcohol in their trolley without making any payment.
The men in the first three CCTV images were seen at both stores. The man in the fourth image was only seen at the Co-Op.
