AN elderly woman is recovering after going missing when she went for a walk from her North Yorkshire home.
The 90-year-old left her home at Gillamoor at about 3pm on Sunday to walk to Douthwaite. She left a note describing her route but failed to return.
Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue team joined police in the search around the immediate area and wider searches were being planned when the missing woman was found.
She was located about 1.5km from the house by a member of the public and the rescue team sent a doctor to tend to her before she was taken to hospital for further treatment.
