TOURING comedians Adam Rowe and Freddy Quinne are not having a laugh when they say a North-East town is one of the funniest places in the country.

Alongside Daliso Chaponda, they are part of the Hilarity Bites comedy troupe coming to The Forum in Darlington this Saturday.

Mr Quinne, 27, is a Manchester-based comic who has fronted audiences across the United Kingdom, including stints at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

He said: “I play at the Forum quite a lot and I think it’s one of the best venues around. It’s got a really good vibe but without the pretentiousness you would get elsewhere."

Hailing from Liverpool, Mr Rowe, 24, agreed that North-Easterners had a good ear for comedy and were always up for a laugh.

He said: “It’s generally the best part of the country to tour.

“It doesn’t matter what you say sometimes. Everyone just seems happy that, for once, there is something happening on a Saturday night.”

Mr Quinne said Saturday’s show could go one of two ways depending on his state of mind when he takes to the stage.

He said: “It depends on whether I’ve taken in more caffeine or more booze.

“But it’s a really good line up. Daliso is one of the best in England and Adam is a hilariously camp up-and-comer that you’ll hear more about in the future.”

Tickets for Saturday’s show cost £10 and doors open at 7.30pm.
