TIPPLES from breweries near and far are at the ready for a County Durham beer festival which kicks off tomorrow (Friday, February 5),

The Sedgefield Winter Beer Festival is this year offering up a range of 12 beers and four ciders as it returns to the town's Parish Hall.

Organised by the Friends of Sedgefield Harriers, it will feature brews from The Durham Brewery, in Bowburn, George Samuel Brewing Company, at Spennymoor and Yorkshire's Ossett Brewery.

Musical entertainment will also be provided including The Last Wednesdays, Hokey Folkies and Ceddesfolk.

The event runs from 7pm to 11pm today and from 1pm to 11pm on Saturday.

Entry is free and pints will cost £2.80 each.

Profits from the event will be donated to the Friends of Sedgefield Harriers' Back the Track campaign which aims to raise £500,000 for a synthetic running track.
