ON the spectrum of festivity, the North-East seem the most prepared for Christmas in terms of alcohol sales.
For the region has topped the rest of the nation in regards to the amount of beer, wine and spirits North-Easterners have been buying.
After the North-East, the people of the South West and East of England were ranked second and third most prepared for the party season.
Wales and London seem ready for a quieter Christmas this year, with Wales coming second last and the Scrooge of the nation, London, yielding the least increase in alcohol sales.
The new figures come from research by the online beer distributor EeBria's Christmas Preparedness Index1, which has analysed its regional monthly sales data for the biggest boost in shopping habits at Christmas time.
David Jackson, co-founder at EeBria, said: "The research points to the North-East as the most prepared this Christmas with the South West and East of England close behind. Londoners and the Welsh need to get a move on to make sure they have all the drinks they want this Christmas!"
