ROGER Cook, the celebrated journalist and broadcaster is bringing tales of his award-winning investigative journalism to the region.

The Cook Report ran for sixteen series over 12 years and featured the intrepid journalist on undercover investigations which saw him and his crew face verbal and physical abuse.

His reporting into criminal activity, injustice and official incompetence formed the most watched current affairs television. With more than 12m viewers it made the series one of the most popular programmes on television.

On Monday, December 7 he will be giving a lunchtime talk at the Cleveland Tontine hotel, between Stokesley and Northallerton.

The audiences will learn about what went into the making of the programmes and the numerous close-shaves experienced in the pursuit of justice.

Roger Cook was brought up in Australia and started work there before joining the BBC, later moving to ITV to present the Cook Report.

The most watched investigative reporter on British TV he showcased some of the bravery involved in uncovering stories on serious issues such as child pornography, illegal immigration, war criminals, the illicit ivory trade and the Russian black market.
