WHEN a junior football club sent out a plea for new winter kit they got the SOS response they needed.
Stephen O’Sullivan, of Ferryhill-based SOS Plumbing & Heating Services, answered the call of Newton Aycliffe Youth FC Under 13 Falcons.
The team had appealed for help to kit the players out in a new strip and tracksuits for training and playing during the winter.
Mr O'Sullivan put his hand in his pocket and sponsored the Falcons so they could buy their new sportswear.
Falcons team manager Darren Williams said: “This extremely kind gesture from Stephen is massive to our team.
“This kind of financial and kit support helps us continue to grow and develop as a grass roots football team and we cannot thank our new sponsor enough."
The club has almost 300 juniors, playing in 21 teams, and the Falcons are currently flying high at the top of their Teesside Junior Football Alliance Division.
