A 20-year-old man had to undergo three operations for a bite wound inflicted during an assault.
The incident happened between 11pm and 11.45pm on Friday, September 18 on a recreational field between Waverly Terrace and Ventnor Avenue in Hartlepool.
Two suspects attacked the 20-year-old victim, one knocking him to the ground and whilst helpless the other attacked him and viciously biting his hand. The victim sought hospital treatment and has required three operations on his hand as a result of the injury.
Investigating officer, PC Andrew Plant, said: “This is a cowardly and callous attack on a young man who has subsequently had to undergo three operations. Anyone who may have information regarding the incident or those responsible is asked to contact police on 101.”
