THE dates for next year’s Great Northern Mod and Ska Festival have been announced.

The 38-acre wooded grounds of Thorp Perrow, near Bedale in North Yorkshire will once again provide the unique backdrop for the festival when it returns in 2016.

The event will be held over the August bank holiday weekend, from August 26 to 28, and discounted, early bird tickets are already available.

Thorpe Perrow is the north’s biggest private arboretum. There will be rides, attractions, camping and some of the most well-known names in Mod, Ska and soul music.

This year’s Great Northern Mod and Ska festival saw fans travel from across the British Isles and included a ride out with a scooter cavalcade around part of last year’s Tour de France course. The acts performing included Craig Charles, Bad Manners, King Hammond and Skaville UK and the Lambrettas.

Managing director of Great Northern Festivals, Mike Jinks, said: “We’ve all been amazed by the feedback we have had from the 2015 visitors.

“So many of them were asking for dates and tickets we had to really push to get everything lined up - 2016 is going to be even bigger and better.”

Weekend tickets are available at an early bird price of £76 each for adults, £44 each for 12 to 16-year-olds and £220 for a family ticket.

Tickets give full access to the event for the whole weekend as well as on site camping. Organisers are advising people to book early.
