AS a new series of Doctor Who gets underway this weekend, fans are being reminded that tickets are still available for an evening with one of its stars and writers.
Mark Gatiss will host an event at Darlington Civic Theatre next month in aid of a new police memorial at Darlington Police Station.
The actor and screenwriter, who was born in Sedgefield and went to school in Newton Aycliffe, has had a lifelong interest in the science fiction show and devoted much of his early writing to the series.
The 48-year-old has also written the ninth episode in the new series of Doctor Who, entitled Sleep no More, which will be shown on November 14 and stars his League of Gentleman co-star, Reece Shearsmith.
An Evening with Mark Gatiss will take place on Saturday, October 3 and tickets are £18 and £17.
