SPORTING youngsters are in training for this year's North Yorkshire Youth Games.
The games, at Ampleforth College on June 3, attract more than 1,500 young people to compete in ten sports.
Athletics, basketball, cricket, girls football, gymnastics, hockey, netball, rugby league and rugby union are among the sports being played this year.
For the first time, Hambleton hopes to take two teams made up of young people with special needs. The district council will also work alongside school sports partnerships, local clubs and coaches to ensure the district is represented in most sports.
