MORE than £2,500 was raised when Bedale Golf Club held its third golf day in aid of Butterwick House children's hospice, at Stockton.
Twenty-six teams travelled from throughout the region to play in a four-ball amateur Stableford competition. The first three victorious teams won food hampers from Lewis and Cooper, in Northallerton, and there were also prizes for the longest drive and the nearest to the pin.
The winning team was Chris and Ray Laidler, Kevin Finlayson and David Raine. In second place were Joan Sanderson, Marilyn Dawson, Carol Shaw and Ann Phillips and the third-placed team was made up of Mark and James Edmondson, John Sickling and Terry Jobling.
Wayne Trotter won the prize for longest drive and Chris Murray for nearest to the pin.
