A PAINTING has been donated to boost the coffers of a charity walk to be held at the end of the month.
The eighth annual Darlington Lions Club walk, with a choice of routes up to 15 miles, will take place at Reeth on Monday, May 28, when more than 120 trekkers will raise money for a variety of charities.
Artist Pat Peacock, whose husband, Tom, helps to organise the event, has given one of her paintings, a montage of Reeth, for a silent auction to raise funds.
The picture is on display at Hudson House, the village's community office, where bids may be placed in a sealed box.
Organisers changed the date of the walk this year from the beginning of the month to the end to coincide with Swaledale Festival.
