A BAND is promising musical rewards in return for donations towards their next album.
Black Nevada, a County Durham-based alternative rock band, have launched an online fundraising bid on the Kickstarter website, which aims to attract financial backing for creative projects.
The band, whose members live in the Shildon and Bishop Auckland areas, formed three years ago and self-funded their own EP.
During the first two years, they were signed by Red Dragon Records.
The five-piece comprises vocalist Jordan Bailey, guitarist George Tait, who also does backing vocals, drummer Sarah Davies, rhythm guitarist Joe Metcalfe and Jonny Moor on bass.
They have just returned from a self-funded UK tour and turned to the internet for help in funding their next recordings.
A spokesman for the band said: “Self-funding a tour that covered over 1,500 miles in just over a week has left the band with little cash.
“Kickstarter rewards anyone who pledges towards the campaign, including digital downloads, merchandise or private performances by the band.
“Funds aren’t taken from the pledges if the target of the campaign isn’t met.”
The band aims to raise £1,000 through Kickstarter and donations will be taken until Wednesday, September 16.
