A RAPIST who attacked a 34-year-old woman in Middlesbrough is being hunted.
The incident occurred at around 10.40pm on Tuesday (July 28) when the woman left the Junction Pub, at the junctions of Borough Road and Union Street.
The victim was approached by a man on a BMX bike and walked with him to meet a second man. They then went to an address nearby.
After leaving this address they walked along St Aidans Drive and one of the men pushed the victim to the floor outside a block of flats and sexually assaulted and raped the victim.
The victim managed to break free and run away. She suffered bruising to her arms and lumps to the back of her head.
DC John Roberts said: “We would like to reassure the local public that we are doing everything that we can to trace this man. Anyone with information regarding him or anyone who may have seen a man acting suspiciously in the area around the time of this incident is urged to contact us.”
The suspect has been described as a white male, 5 ft 9ins tall, of stocky build and in his late 20s. He was wearing a flat cap with green and beige checks on it and possibly a grey tracksuit. He was also pushing a mountain bike.
