COCKFIELD residents are being invited to a public meeting to discuss whether to make a new miners’ banner for the village to replace the old one which has been lost.
The meeting, in the Methodist Church Hall, will take place on Wednesday, July 1, at 7pm.
Durham County Councillor Heather Smith, who is involved in the project, also said there could be a possibility of including the village’s famous surveyor and astronomer Jeremiah Dixon.
