NORTH-East comedian Roy Chubby Brown has written a poignant song to raise funds for a baby hospice.

The Middlesbrough funnyman was inspired to write the song after a visit to Zoe's Place Baby Hospice in Normanby in the town.

He has paid for the studio production and CD manufacture and has delivered copies to the hospice to sell. Every penny made in sales will go straight to the hospice, which provides respite and end-of-life care for babies and infants aged up to five.

Rachel Willmore, community fundraiser for Zoe's Place, said: "We are thrilled that Roy is backing us again. I know when he recently spent a morning with us he was deeply moved by what he witnessed. The fact that he immediately went home and penned this lovely tune for us shows how hard it hit home to him. The CD is very moving and has brought much emotion to us all."

The CD, which is released on Wednesday, is priced at £5. For information on how to get a copy, go to @goffymedia on Twitter.
