A TEENAGER has been charged with a number of sexual offences in Newcastle.
David Hedley, who is 19, and from East Denton, has been charged with attempted rape, four counts of sexual assault by touching a female over the age of 13, one count sexual assault by touching a female under the age of 13, six counts of exposure and four counts of engaging in a sex act in the presence of a child.
The charges are in connection with a number of sexual offences that happened in the West Denton area of the city between October 2012 and March 2015.
They include the following incidents
- October 17, 2012: Report of man exposing himself and performing a sex act in front of children in Stamfordham Road
- October 16, 2014: Report of 12-year-old girl sexually assaulted in Pallinsburn Court
- November 7, 2014: Report of 16-year-old girl sexually assaulted near Go Outdoors in West Denton
- March 24, 2015: Report of 17-year-old girl having been grabbed by a man while crossing footbridge over the A1 near West Denton.
Mr Hedley has been remanded in custody and will appear at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Saturday, April 4.
