CUSTOMER service workers hopped to the help of children facing Easter in hospital.

Staff from EDF Energy, including one dressed in a full Easter bunny suit, handed out chocolate treats to children at Sunderland Royal Hospital.

Employees Deanne Richardson, Steven Haram and Nicola Frater collected 40 Easter eggs from colleagues at the customer service centre at Doxford International Business Park.

Today (Thursday, April 2) they were delivered to children on the paediatric, orthopaedic and ear, nose and throat wards.

Steven Haram, who dressed up as the Easter Bunny to deliver the gifts, said: “The staff at the hospital do a great job and we wanted to add to that by bringing some Easter fun to the children’s unit by donating the eggs and gifts.

“It was great seeing the kids' faces when the Easter Bunny hopped in to see them.

“We had a great response from everyone at EDF Energy. All of the team are very supportive when it comes to projects supporting the community.”
