POLICE are appealing for help after a man was the subject of an unprovoked attack as he walked home. The 48-year-old victim and his friend were walking along Cockton Hill Road, Bishop Auckland, around 1.15am on Thursday, March 19. A dark vehicle stopped near to Cockton Hill Working Men’s Club and two men got out and crossed the road. They assaulted the victim before getting back into the vehicle and heading off towards the town centre. The victim was shaken, but not badly hurt.
