THE JABBERVAN has rolled into town, bringing with it news of a world-class festival.

A colourful caravan will be parked up around Darlington town centre in the run up to the next Jabberwocky Market festival.

The Jabbervan will act as an information hub for the upcoming festival, which aims to bring small-scale but world-class theatre to the North-East.

The festival will return to Darlington for the fourth time this month and will be staged at between Thursday, March 26 and Sunday, March 29.

An eclectic programme of performances will take place at the Quaker Meeting House while the Voodoo Cafe will host the festival’s bar.

This month’s event will include The Adventure, a unique show that will see youngsters spirited away to a secret location to help detectives solve a crime.

It will also feature comedy in the form of Gloriator, a homage to the classic film Gladiator performed by world-renowned French actress Gloria Delaneuf.

Performers from across Darlington will have the opportunity to shine at the festival’s Scratch Night on Friday, March 27 while other highlights include plays The Fights and Lorraine and Alan, a modern retelling of the Selkie myth.

Information, tickets and festival passes – along with a number of surprises – will be delivered from the Jabbervan in the run-up to the festival.
