A COUNTY'S Women's Institutes have been honoured for a century of community service.
Durham County Council chairman John Robinson presented the Durham Federation of the WI with the Chairman's Medal.
The presentation ceremony at County Hall was attended by a member of each of the branches across the county.
The County Records Office also put on a display of photographs and memorabilia.
Councillor Robinson said he wanted to honour all Durham WI branches for what they had achieved in their communities by celebrating friendship.
