TWO of the North-East’s most acclaimed writers are joining forces to chat onstage and discuss their books.
Harry Pearson and Richard Milward are appearing at the Waiting Room, in Station Road, Eaglescliffe, on Sunday March 22 from 8pm.
Mr Pearson is best known for his book The Far Corner: A Mazy Dribble Through North-Eastern Football, a bleakly hilarious look at non-league football in the region.
He has also written about country fairs, Belgium, war gaming and Northern club cricket and is a regular columnist for The Guardian.
Mr Milward’s debut book Apples about disaffected Teesside youth earned praise from Irvine Welsh who described it as “one of the best books I’ve ever read about being young, working class and British”.
He followed it up with 2009’s Ten Storey Love Song and 2012’s Kimberley’s Capital Punishment.
The duo will chat about their literary careers, take questions from the audience and also present readings from their works.
Admission costs £6. Those attending can either pay on the night or follow this link to buy tickets
