Darlington primary school closed after flood

Cockerton Primary School has told parents the hot water boiler malfunctioned and flooded the school office on Monday night.

The school said in a statement to parents: "We have no hot water in school and we are legally unable to open as we cannot cook or prepare lunches.

"We are hopefully going to get it repaired today and be open as usual tomorrow.

"We obviously apologise for this and any inconvenience caused."
