A ONE-day conference will give people to chance to talk about one of the greatest taboos of our society – death.

Dying to Know, a day of listening, learning and sharing, is being staged by Durham Christian Partnership, Parish Nursing Ministries UK and the NHS North Durham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

It is aimed at volunteers, professionals, chaplains, pastoral workers and members of the public.

Delegates will have the chance to discuss death and plan for the end of life.

The key speakers are Dr Lindsay Crack, a community palliative care consultant; Dr Philip le Dune, a GP with an interest in palliative care; and Rev Jean Francis, an interfaith minister and facilitator of death cafes.

The event will take place at Bowburn Community Centre, Durham Road, Bowburn, County Durham, on Friday, April 17, from 9am to 3.30pm.

Entry is free. Lunch is provided. Donations are welcome.
