THE multi-million pound redevelopment of a leading hotel will include a room fit for a president, its owners say.
Ramside Hall Hotel, near Durham, is undergoing a £16m revamp including a new golf course, 47extra bedrooms and a spa.
The Cathedral golf course opened last year and the spa will be ready in July.
The new rooms will open in April, including a Presidential Suite said to be the largest and most luxurious in the region, with a seven-foot wide bed and freestanding copper bath.
It will have panoramic views, a large dining area, bedroom, dressing room and extra bathroom.
Hotel owner John Adamson said: “It will be something very special for the North-East.
“We have done everything possible to ensure our guests have a memorable and comfortable stay in luxurious surroundings.”
