A FORMER model turned television presenter and DJ will entertain the ladies at a North-East racecourse this summer.

Vernon Kay will perform a live DJ set at the annual Rowflow Ladies Evening at Sedgefield Racecourse in Count Durham on Thursday, August 27.

Kay, married to BBC Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daley, was first spotted by a model scout from Select at the BBC’s Clothes Show Live and later won Model of the Week on Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast.

In 2000, he landed a regular gig on T4 and later became a presenter on BBC2’s Top of the Pops Plus.

Kay joined BBC Radio 1 in 2006 and presented a weekly slot until he left the station in 2012.

He has hosted a variety of television shows for both BBC1 and ITV1, including Just the Two of Us, Gameshow Marathon, Beat the Star, The Whole 19 Yards, Let’s Get Gold, 1,000 Heartbeats and All Star Family Fortunes.

The father-of-two also finds time to DJ and play for his American Football team The London Warriors.
