VISITORS to a North-East opticians can pick up a pair of novelty glasses for Red Nose Day.
Specsavers, in Darlington, is selling the comedy glasses for a minimum donation of £3 to raise money for Comic Relief.
The opticians became an official partner of the charity in February, and the Darlington store’s fundraising campaign has been supported by the Moffatt family from Channel 4's Gogglebox, and brothers Richard and Adam Johnson, who finished third in Britain’s Got Talent in 2013.
The store will also be holding a bake sale on Friday, March 6, with all money raised going to Comic Relief.
Staff member Kerry Bainbridge said: “Following the amazing response to our Christmas gift appeal, we are also asking the public to donate Easter eggs or gifts for the women’s refuge.
“Donations can be brought into store from beginning of March.”
