POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 27-year-old man was stabbed in the leg
Officers were called to an address in Addison Court in Wallsend, at 8.17am on Saturday, February 14.
The ambulance service also attended and took the victim to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle.
His condition was described as stable and the injury as non-life threatening.
When officers arrived the offender had already made off.
The offender is described as a white man, aged 20 to 30 years, 5 ft 8ins tall, of medium build with short dark hair. He was wearing a hi-vis workman's style jacket and possibly a black woollen hat.
It is believed that both parties know each other.
Additional officers are on patrol in the area to reassure the community.
