A TEENAGER has appeared in court over a videolink today (Friday, February 13) accused of planning a deadly attack on a college armed with pipe bombs, a pistol and expanding bullets.
Liam Lyburd, who is at Durham Prison, faces seven charges including intent to endanger life.
The 18-year-old is alleged to have been found with a pipe bomb, firearms and ammunition at his home on Hamilton Place, in the west end of Newcastle.
At a previous hearing it was alleged the teenager was making the explosive device to set off in Newcastle College with the “intent to cause serious harm".
About 50 homes were evacuated after Northumbria Police received the report of concern at around 11.30am on Monday, November 3.
Mr Lyburd as remanded in custody to appear before Newcastle Crown Court in July.
