PANCAKE fun for all is on offer at a beach side bistro on Shrove Tuesday (February 17).

Youngsters visiting the Beach House in Roker, Sunderland, are promised a “flipping frenzy” with a variety of pancake-related activities, on Tuesday (February 17).

The seaside cafe and bistro is run by Sunderland AFC catering company 1879 Event Management.

Samson the Cat, the club mascot, will be taking part in a pancake race along the beach against Sunny the Seagull, representing local radio station Sun FM.

There will also be pancake making with the bistro chef, while members of the Sunderland Ladies football squad, who are preparing for their maiden season in the WSL1, the top tier in the women’s game, will give a demonstration of their skills.

All activities will take place between 12-noon and 3pm, with pancakes priced at £1 each, and other activities free of charge.

The Beach House, on Marine Walk, overlooking Roker Beach, is open from 10am - 3pm between Monday and Friday, and until 5pm on weekends.
