A WOMAN who injured her boyfriend in a drunken row after a funeral has walked free from court after he refused to make a complaint.

Roberta Suddick threw crockery around their home in Middlesbrough in October last year and a glass struck her partner on the head.

The man was knocked out but after being taken to hospital, he declined to have his wound stitched, Teesside Crown Court was told.

When 33-year-old Suddick was arrested, she was intoxicated and also had injuries to her forehead and arm, said Emma Atkinson, prosecuting.

Miss Atkinson told the court that the mother-of-three and her boyfriend had been drinking and taking cocaine after the funeral.

Graham Brown, mitigating, said Suddick threw plates, cups and glasses "partly out of frustration and partly out of anger"

She was given a 12-month community order with supervision after admitting a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Judge Crowson told Suddick, of Mardale, Hemlington: "You have no record. It seems appropriate to assist you in the community."
