THE Co-operative is investing £325,000 in a revamp of their Northallerton store which they say will turn it into a hub for the local community.
The store in Boroughbridge Road will have an extended bakery, focusing on meal ideas, essentials and healthy, fresh foods. A community pioneer is also being appointed from the staff with responsibility for fostering local involvement.
Manager Simon Jones said: “I’m excited about welcoming shoppers into the new store. The transformation will be amazing, and I’m sure our customers will enjoy shopping in the new environment.
“The Co-operative is a community retailer, and we are committed to playing an active role in local life. The store will be a hub for the community, and customers will be able to find out what is going on, and how The Co-operative can benefit local groups.”
The store is closed from today and will reopen on Thursday, February 5.
