A HOUSEMATE of missing Durham University student Euan Coulthard has described him as "one of the loveliest blokes I've ever met", as the search for the 19-year-old intensifies.
More than 100 concerned students today joined 60 specialists in scouring Durham’s riverbanks for the popular law student, but without success.
Nothing new was found, no new sightings emerged and no new intelligence was gathered.
Euan, a second-year law student from Bottesford, near Nottingham, was last seen leaving Loveshack nightclub, in Durham, shortly before midnight on Wednesday night.
Chris Makowski shared a house with Euan and was celebrating a friend’s 21st birthday with him before he disappeared.
Mr Makowski said: “He’s a lovely guy. I went out with him on Wednesday night. We went to Loveshack but we lost track of him.
“He’s one of the loveliest blokes I’ve ever met.
“He was really well known. Everyone is really taken aback. You can see it – no one wants to be alone.”
Police are becoming increasingly concerned for Euan’s welfare, while Durham University is offering support to students distressed by his disappearance.
The search will continue this weekend, but anyone with information on Euan’s whereabouts is asked to call Durham Police on the non-emergency number, 101.
