URBAN and contemporary art inspired by the streets and people of the region feature in a gallery’s first exhibition of the year.
With Showcase 2015, The Bob Abley Gallery at Spennymoor Town Hall, in Spennymoor, County Durham, will shine a light on the work of NEUA (North East Urban Art) artists between Saturday, January 10 and Saturday, January 31.
The exhibition will feature art and photography by established artists and new and emerging talent and include original pieces, limited and open edition prints some of which has been created specifically for the show.
Exhibitors include Stephen Irving, a fine artist whose work is inspired by street art culture and the urban environment, who founded NEUA.
Teesside street artists Karl Striker and Oltad; abstract artist Tom Winney, illustrator Joy Louise Waterman and urban photographers Idene Roozbayani, Sam Wood and Lucinda Grange complete the line-up.
The gallery is open from Monday to Friday, noon to 4pm, and Saturday 10am to 2pm, and admission is free.
