A DARLINGTON schoolboy put his best dancing foot forward to take home three trophies at the United Dance Organisation’s (UDO) North East Street Dance Championships.

Fifteen-year-old Brandon Holloway outmanoeuvred his competitors to be placed first in the under-18 advanced team competition, under-16 advanced solo competition and the under-16 advanced duo competition.

His successes mean that Brandon, his duo partner Morgan Porter and dance team ‘Hustle’, will progress on to both the UDO World Championships and European Championships taking place later this year.

Commenting on his accomplishments Brandon said: “It gave me great confidence in my ability and as it was my last competition in the advanced level I was pleased to finish on a high and progress to the next level up.”

Brandon, who has been competing with Dimensions Dance Academy in Darlington since he was 12, also took home the Duo British Championship earlier this year in Glasgow.

He said: “Becoming British champion earlier in the year was amazing on its own.

“But to come first in three categories at such a big event was something else entirely, I’m really proud of myself and everyone in team Hustle.”

Whilst street dance is his preferred style, Brandon is also a keen ballet dancer, taking part in classes and examinations as part of the many extracurricular activities available at his school, Polam Hall in Darlington.
