A MAN has appeared in court charged with stabbing another man in a rural village.
Sean Oliver is accused of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to a man in Esh Winning, County Durham, on Sunday (January 4), along with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
The 20-year-old, of Redwood, Esh Winning, appeared before Consett Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (January 6).
No pleas were entered and the case was adjourned to Durham Crown Court on Tuesday, January 20.
Mr Oliver was remanded in custody.
A man suffered a knife wound to the torso in the incident. He was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle but has since been released.
