A MAN and woman have been arrested following a spate of garage burglaries.
A resident of the Winterton estate in Sedgefield, County Durham, contacted police during the early hours of Monday, January 5, after witnessing two people breaking into garages.
Police arrived shortly after and arrested a 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman.
The pair, both from the Middlesbrough area, were arrested and jointly charged with four garage burglaries.
The man was also charged with dangerous driving and driving without insurance.
They will appear before magistrates in Newton Aycliffe on Thursday, February 5.
