A NEW headteacher has been appointed at an independent school in the region.

Andrew Wilson has now taken over as head of Teesside High School in Eaglescliffe, near Stockton-on-Tees after moving from New Hall School in Chelmsford, Essex, where he was vice principal.

Before he joined New Hall he was a housemaster and director of music at Milton Abbey School and has taught for more than 20 years.

He has also previously been organist and choirmaster at Great Malvern Priory.

He joins the school with his three young children Gregor, Euan and Lydia.

Teesside High School uses the "diamond" model of education - teaching boys and girls together in primary school, then separately from ages 11-16, then back together for six form.
