HUNDREDS of children turned out to enjoy a town’s Christmas spectacular.
Father Christmas was on hand to switch on the Christmas tree lights in the Market Place, in Bishop Auckland this evening (Friday, November 21).
Children were entertained by characters from Frozen, the cast of Sleeping Beauty, which is due to entertain audiences at Bishop Auckland Town Hall later this month and a fire and sparkle show.
There was something for the adults with a festive market, organised by the South Durham Enterprise Agency, containing stalls selling a range of produce from the North-East. It is also open between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, November 22.
Auckland Castle is also hosting a Christmas market, featuring everything from confectionary to handcrafted jewellery, on the Saturday and Sunday, between 10am and 4pm.
