APPRENTICE star Daniel Lassman will be at the launch of Stockton charity Follow the Rainbow.

The 27-year-old businessman, who is one of the final ten candidates on the BBC One hit show, will be at the event with his company Casino Night Hire.

He has been hired by 25-year-old Nathan Taylor from Stockton, who founded the charity to raise money for local organisations such as baby hospice Zoe's Place.

Mr Taylor said: "The aim of Follow the Rainbow is to make money for other charities that do not get any, or very little, Government funding.

"I have been working in the industry for a few years and wanted to set something up that was different. I am hoping to raise £15,000 from this first event.

"I got a bit lucky with managing to get Daniel to attend. I rang up his company as I was looking for a couple of roulette tables and managed to speak to him - he explained to me that he was on The Apprentice and said he would love to attend. I have been overwhelmed really.

"I think it will be much better than other charity events as people will really be able to get involved."

Mr Lassman, who previously wanted to be a professional footballer, said: "In my short time of knowing Nathan it has become very clear that he is passionate about the cause.

"He really made me buy into his enthusiasm. I am thoroughly looking forward to the event and hope we can raise some money."

Comedy duo Faces of Disco, who reached the semi-final of Britain's Got Talent in 2009, and breakthrough artist Channy Thompson will perform.

The event is on Saturday, November 29, at Players Lounge in Stockton. Tickets are £8 buy one get one free and include a cocktail, buffet and casino chip. Contact the venue or 07766 701823.
